This is a very nice German K98 Mauser rifle that was originally manufactured in 1937 at the Erma Werke Factory. Mechanically this rifle works great and is sure to be a great shooter. This rifle has been sporterized as can be seen in the photos. It is not import marked and is most likely a WWII bringback that was sporterized by the vet after WWII. This was a common practice in the late 40’s and 50’s after the War. This rifle is a rare code that was only produced for a short time. It’s sad that it is not in its original configuration, but could be brought back to life or kept as a sporter to tell its post war story.
