This is a very nice Winchester Model 1897 shotgun that was manufactured in 1901. Mechanically this shotgun works great and is sure to be an excellent shooter.  The 26″ barrel has a very good bore and cylinder choke.  Serial numbered parts are matching.  This shotgun has been heavily refinished with most markings being removed in the process.  This is a great shotgun that would make an excellent candidate for a reproduction trench gun build or to take on your next hunting trip!
