This is a very interesting all original Japanese Type 30 Bayonet that is claimed to have come from the Kwajalein Atoll battle of WWII. This was purchased years ago and was claimed to have been picked up by the vet who was a crew member of an LST ship with the USN. While docked off of Kwajalein Atoll, the vet and other crew members went to explore the island and souvenir hunt. He found this bayonet along with a Type 38 rifle (which he kept to give to his great grandson).
Unfortunately, his story is lost to time, but this bayonet does show heavy signs of combat use with the grips missing and a bullet or shrapnel strike to the blade. It is pitted throughout and in relic condition. An interesting bayonet that makes a very nice display.
