This is a very nice German Gew 88/05 Commission Rifle that was manufactured in 1892 at the Spandau Arsenal. Mechanically this rifle is in excellent working order and is sure to be a great shooter.  This rifle has had the ’05 conversion completed with updated operating system to accept modern 8mm Mauser ammunition without the use of a clip.  These are excellent rifles that are becoming awesome collectibles and are fun at the range.
