This is a very nice German Gew 98 Mauser Sporting Rifle that was originally manufactured in 1918 at the Amberg Arsenal.  Mechanically this rifle works great and should make for a fine shooter.  This rifle was sporterized from its military configuration.  It is not import marked and is very likely either a WWI or WWII bringback.  The rear sight is a Lyman and in good working order.  This is a great opportunity to own a fine sporting rifle with a military pedigree.
