This is a very nice original German K98 Mauser rifle that was manufactured at the Gustloff Werke Factory in 1944.  Mechanically this rifle works great and functions as it should.  This rifle is not import marked and has a duffle cut stock substantiating that it is a WWII bringback.  Unfortunately, the GI cut the stock in a more than conspicuous location and not under a barrel band as usually seen.  Also, there are wrench marks on the barrel, but it does not seem to have been moved and headspaces as it should with a no-go gauge.
