This is a very nice all original Japanese Type 99 Arisaka rifle that was manufactured at the Tokyo Juki Kogyo Arsenal during WWII. Mechanically this rifle is in excellent working order and is sure to be a great shooter. The 37th series TJK rifle is an interesting series run as the Japanese started to use substitute standards of quality as the War progressed.
This rifle shows many signs of these sacrifices such as the use of a single screw rear sling swivel although the stock was cut for the earlier two screw swivel, the lack of a cleaning or stacking rod, welded safety, and wooden butt plate. This rifle also retains all of the original rough finish chatter markings at the wrist on the stock.
This rifle is not import marked and has a ground chrysanthemum. It is a complete rifle for a harder to find series and is sure to be a great example to add to your WWII rifle collection.
