This is a very nice all original Japanese Type 99 Arisaka rifle that was manufactured at the Kokura Arsenal.  Mechanically this rifle works great and is sure to be an excellent shooter.  This rifle is rare in that it has a large square recoil lug.  This was only done for a short time at Kokura during production of the 24th series.  This rifle is not import marked and is most likely a WWII USGI bringback.  The chrysanthemum has been ground.  This is a great example of a hard to find variation of the Arisaka!
