This is a very nice Japanese Type 44 manufactured during WWII at the Nagoya Arsenal.  Mechanically this rifle is in very good working order and is sure to be a great shooter.  The mum has been defaced.  This is a 2nd series, 3rd variation carbine. There were less than 12,000 of this variation said to have been made. This carbine is not import marked and is a WWII bringback.  This is a good honest non import WWII 2nd series Nagoya Type 44 cavalry carbine and is in very good condition.

Bore Condition: Very good bore with strong rifling and shine throughout.

Matching Numbers: Bolt body and safety are matching. The firing pin is correct and is not serial numbered. Bayonet lug is matching. Magazine floorplate is matching. All other parts appear to match in finish and condition.

Metal Condition: Metal is in very good condition with all original finish. Some light finish wear and handling marks throughout.

Wood Condition: Stock is in very good condition throughout. There are a few light handling marks throughout. It is all original and has not been refinished.
