This is an original Japanese Type 38 rifle manufactured at the Mukden Arsenal. This rifle has the hard to find single piece non spliced stock that was used for a short time.  Overall, this is a great rifle that works great mechanically and is sure to make for an excellent shooter.  It has no import marks present and is most likely a WWII bringback.  The mum has been ground.  This rifle comes complete with original cleaning rod.

Description

Make: Japanese, Mukden Arsenal

Model: Type 38 Rifle

Caliber: 6.5x50mm Japanese

Bore Condition: Good bore.  Strong rifling and shine throughout. Just a light touch of frosting in the grooves.

Matching Numbers: Magazine floorplate and bayonet lug are matching by assembly number.  The bolt is not matching, but works well in the rifle.

Metal Condition: Very good condition throughout.  Some light wear throughout, but original bluing is good throughout.

Wood Condition: Good condition throughout with some dents and dings most notable on the rear buttstock.  Initials EC have been lightly carved into stock.  This is a rare combat used one piece stock. This style stock is mostly seen on training rifles, but is original to this combat rifle. The Japanese military did this for a short time.
