This is a very nice all original Japanese Type 38 carbine that was manufactured at the Nagoya Arsenal. This is a very rare and hard to find “Zero Series” Nagoya with a total production number of around 2000 rifles. This rifle is not import marked and is most likely a WWII bringback. The mum has been defaced, but the outline is still visible. The front sight ears have been removed from the front sight. This was common practice by GI’s to facilitate disassembly to send the rifle home as the front band can’t be removed with the ears on the front sight.
