This is a very nice Japanese Type 38 carbine that was converted in China post WWII to 7.62x39mm. This carbine works good mechanically. I have personally fired it and it works as it should although extraction is a little weak. This carbine started life as a Japanese Type 38 Arisaka rifle chambered in 6.5mm Japanese. Used during WWII finding its way to China, this rifle was then rearsenaled by the Chinese Arsenal 37 into a carbine length arm and rechambered to 7.62x39mm. There is an import mark at the end of the barrel. This carbine does not have a follower. Very few of these did. They were intended to be a single shot rifle. Here is your chance to get a rare carbine in a common caliber!
