This is a very nice all original J. Stevens Tip-up chambered in 22 short/long/long rifle. Mechanically it shoots great. I have shot quite a few 22 short rounds through it and it is a real treat to fire. The rear tang sight appear to be original and is in good working order. This rifle has a patent date of September 16, 1864. The sights are a flip up buckhorn/standard rear sight with a front bead sight. The extractor works great. This rifle is a great shooter and a lot of fun to plink with.
