This is a neat original group of Iraqi ammo brought back from Operation Desert Shield by a Captain Moniz of HMM-161 Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 161.
There are 4 inert rounds that have all been disabled by having a hole drilled in the case. There is one 7.62x39mm, one 12.7mm, and two 14.5mm rounds. One of the 14.5mm rounds appears to be Russian, but I believe all others to be Iraqi.
Two of the rounds have masking tape on them with the soldier’s name and unit written in permanent marker. Iraqi ammo from Operation Desert Shield is seldom seen especially with any kind of provenance.
