This is a very nice all original French Gras Cadet Rifle that was manufactured in 1886 at the St. Etienne Arsenal. Mechanically it works great and is sure to be an excellent shooter. It has an above average bore and is all matching in serial number. This short rifle is harder to find than its long rifle counter-part. It is marked MLE1874 M80 with a stock cartouche dated 1886. This rifle is not import marked and is duffle cut behind each of the bands. It has been partially repaired with brass rods, but they are still a little loose. I have done nothing to change it from the way I received it. This is a great example of a seldom seen Gras rifle that will be great to shoot!
