This is a very nice, seldom seen German G98/40 rifle made in occupied Hungary for the Germans during WWII. It was manufactured in 1943 and is chambered in 8mm mauser. The bore is good with strong rifling and shine throughout. The bolt is mismatched by 3 three numbers. It is in the same "h" block of serial numbers. The floorplate and trigger guard are matching to the themselves. The rear stock is matching to the rifle and has a nice WaA cartouche at the wrist. The bands are not matching. There are no import marks on this rifle. the stock is in good shape with some scratches and few dings, but no cracks or major damage. The bluing is in good shape throughout. This is a great example of a hard to find rifle.
