This is a nice original German 88/05 commission rifle manufactured in 1891 at the Danzig Arsenal. Chambered in 8mm Mauser, this rifle has a very good bore that is bright and shiny with strong rifling. Mechanically everything works great. The bolt is Turkish marked and headspaces well to the rifle. There is a dent in the barrel jacket that does not impede function. The stock is in good shape throughout and is free of cracks or damage. It has a nice tiger stripe pattern. The metal is in good shape throughout with some finish wear, but no corrosion or pitting. There do not appear to be any import marks on this rifle. This rifle has been upgraded to accept stripper clips, be loaded internally without a clip and can fire standard 8mm Mauser ammunition. This is a great rifle that is sure to make a great shooter at the range.
