This is a nice origianl German K-98 rifle manufactured at the BRNO arsenal in German occupied Czechoslovakia in 1943. This rifle is chambered in 8mm Mauser and has a bore that has worn rifling and is slightly dark throughout. It should still make for a good shooter. The numbers are not matching, but all parts appear to be WWII German manufacture and the bolt headspaces to the rifle. Mechanically, this rifle works as it should. The stock is in fair condition and appear to have been refinished at some point in its life. The buttplate does not fit tight. The sheetmetal nosecap for the stock is missing. This rifle is not import marked and looks like it is possibly a Vietnam War bringback rifle.
This would make an excellent shooter/reenactor piece!
